Hopefully someone can recommend some decent "grocery" coleslaw. I am cooking my first slow cooker pulled pork this weekend and never made coleslaw that tasted real great. Can anyone recommend a good grocery store coleslaw that will be a hit?
I live in North York (Keele/Lawrence) and dont really want to trek all over the city looking for it, so convenience is key.
Do you mean pre-made slaw, dressing and all? Or just good bagged slaw, so you don't have to do the shredding yourself?
If it's the latter, I usually mix the standard bagged cabbage and broccoli slaws, then toss with a really mustard-y dressing. I like the texture variations from the two kinds of slaw.
Bruno's makes a good vinegar-based cole slaw. I haven't tried any other store's version.
If you post over on the home cooking board, I bet you'd get a ton of recipes and tips for making your own. Mark Bittman has a tasty, easy version in his "How to Cook Everything" cookbook.
