Lunch in Carcassonne
Venturing to Carcassonne for two nights in April.
We'll be staying right inside the walled city. Anything decent for lunch within walking distance (up to 15 minutes is ok), or a short cab ride?
We will be 12 people, mostly personal chefs, so although it needn't be high-end, good cooking is important. Couple of places would be good as we'll have a Sunday lunch as well. We will definitely call ahead to let them know a group is coming.
Thanks in advance.

Inside the walls, La St Jean. And don't miss the Cassoulet from here, it is one of the 3 styles that compete with each other in SW France. Just make sure that when you plan to have Cassoulet, go very hungry, it's very filling if you're not used to it. Very unique taste. And nothing like you've ever had outside of the Southwest.
A second place is La Tete de l"Art, also inside the walls.

We were there with some of our staff from Bistro Des Copains in Occidental, CA and visiting wineries in the region. We asked everyone where to go for a very good authentic cassoulet in Carcassonne.
The answer from everyone was the same: Restaurant Le Languedoc in Carcassonne. They were right, it was a very good cassoulet; the best by far I ever had.
