Sanctuaria, St. Louis

Can anyone ring in on Sanctuaria? The menu looks good, but the hipness factor is scaring me.

Just went Friday night for the first time and sat in the bar area. We loved the decor and found it very inviting. The service was great, food was incredible, we're definitely going back. I can't comment on the "hipness factor" since I'm not even sure what you mean, but bottom line, it's a nice place with great food and I recommend it.

Thanks for the info and opinions. It sounds like somewhere we would like. What I meant by the hipness factor was often the food doesn't quite catch up to the atmosphere. Their website is very, well hip. That's the only word I could think of . You know, lots of tattoos, calling their tapas "wild tapas. That sort of thing. No problem with that at all, as long as the food is as good as the website is cool. Thanks for the recommendation, we're looking forward to it!

I've not eaten there, but Sanctuaria did receive a favorable review in the Riverfront Times and the chef behind the restaurant has had success in developing decent menus at a few other locations.

I can't comment personally. But judging from the people in the pics on the web site, it doesn't look too intimidating at all to me. I don't like too trendy...
