Vietnamese cooking school

Does anyone know of a Vietnamese cooking school where I could study for one or two weeks? The only ones I've found so far have run 1-day courses, but I'm looking for something a bit more involved...

  1. i went to this place in november and did a few days of classes split between some tourist level ones and some "pro" level courses:

they are very well run and the whole experience is well packaged with recipe booklets ready for you to take home, and even a cheesy "graduation" at the end of the day...the tourist class is basic, dumping in pre-chopped ingredients when told to do so by the instructor and ending with a finished lunch...

the "pro" level course is more involved as you actually make things from scratch...and they had three people dedicated to a private class (chef, assistant, and translator)...plus you make larger batches of things to practice more...

as far as i can remember, they are willing to customize a program for you from 1-3 weeks...the 3 week course was actually a good deal i recall...doing one or two pro courses is pretty pricy...

the center is well set-up, and about a 15-20 minute drive north of HCMC, not a whole lot around there just generic city life...all in all, i'd recommend the place highly if you want to learn some real content, but the rates are certainly geared towards ex-pats...

i also found that if you talk up a small restaurant owner, they'd show you how to make things too...i paid one place $20 for an afternoon of learning how to make a couple of dishes...

    enjoy!
