Looking for Recommendations in Some Smaller Cities (Agra and Chandigarh)

I'm going to be in Chandigarh for 4 nights or so, and Agra for two nights.

So far the only place that I've heard anything about is Esphahan at the Oberoi Amarvilas in Agra.

Anyone have any recommendations in either of these two cities?

If you are interested in South Indian while in Agra, Dasaprakash is a nice, modern convenient restaurant. Reasonable pricing and very good vegetarian food.

Ive also heard very good things about the meat cuisine at Peshawri, at the Sheraton.

We did not fall in love with the city of Agra! However, I highly recommend crossing the river for the baby Taj and the view of the Taj from the gardens on the other side, if you can persuade your taxi driver. Even more, I recommend a day trip to Fatepur Sikri, infinitely more interesting and enjoyable than the defaced and crowded Red Fort - Fairly convenient to that sidedrip, you could go to lunch in the civilized garden surroundings, filled with birdsong, of The Bagh near Bharatpur. they cook Braj Brahmin dishes and are quite flexible as to portion size, spicing, etc.

Dasaprakash is a good idea. I used to like the Chinese room in Mughal-dunno if it is still any good.
