its not gone...its actually located in ward blvd now...you know where big lots shopping center is...he is located right beside el diamante....

After I posted this I decided that I was being lame, and I also hadn't eaten today, so I gave them a call and you're right. They had just moved. Thanks so much for the tip.

I would be really interested in hearing what you have to say about the other taquerias in Wilson, especially compared to El Mexicanito. I've been wanting to try El Pollo Loco, but I love El Mexicanito so much that it's hard to resist going- it's definitely been sapping my will to try new places. I tried Las Palmas once and it was pretty good, but it just couldn't compare to El Mexicanito.

It's in the same shopping center as the Big Lots. There's a panaderia called El Diamante next door. If you're using the net to get directions, the best thing would probably be to google the Big Lots.

The Taco express is quite good in the Shopping center where RBC is on ward blvd..accross from brentwood shopping center

Thanks for the tip, I hadn't heard of that one. Any meats that are particularly good or daily specials to look for? If you're in Wilson, maybe you could give an update on El Mexicanito. I am going to hate it if that place is really gone. It was *so* good.

You mean El Mexicanito? It is? I haven't been in a few months, but I called them a couple of weeks ago after my wife tried and found them closed, and they said they were still up and running. She was there around 6pm on a Tuesday. Maybe they changed their hours.

The only other current taco place that I've been to in Wilson is not too far from El Mexicanito- Las Palmas. Not quite as good as the superlative El Mexicanito, but pretty good nonetheless. It's on Goldsboro St. near Flo's Kitchen.

There's also a rosticería called El Pollo Loco(no relation to the chain) on Herring Ave on the edge of town. I haven't tried it but I did see an ad of theirs in Enlace and they apparently cook the chicken over live coals. It looked good.

I did get a great meal at Quince but I had my sights on a plate full of .99 cent (the old Thursday special) tacos.
