Where to find good Burek in Manhattan or Brooklyn? Djerdan has it, but anywhere else?

  1. I get my burek fix in the Bronx at Tony & Tina's, but if you're interested in branching out, you might like the Su Boregi with Cheese (or meat, etc.) available at Gulluoglu, a Turkish bakery with branches in BK (Coney Island Ave down around Quentin) and Manhattan (2nd & 52nd St.). It's a close cousin to burek, and I think it's delicious.

Gulluoglu has a number of different boregi, including Bosnak Boregi, which I assume is Bosinian style. It's a coiled meat burek. It's better than the Manhattan Djerdan, IMO. I think Djerdan nukes theirs and Gulloglu bakes them to heat them up.

Also, Gazala Place in Hell's Kitchen (Druse) has several kinds of burek/borek, and they're very good too.
