I've been a couple of times and really like it! The room next to the main dining area, which has cosy chairs and an open fireplace is my favourite. It's like a chilled living room. Don't forget to take a look at the naughty wallpaper!
Food is really good and consistent. I especially like the souffle and duck breast. They also serve afternoon tea, if you just want to pop by for a quick one.

I'd say go there for the great buzz and an almost party atmosphere. Food is hit and miss: never thrilling, mostly reliable. Very good haddock souffle, very bad ham terrine, acceptable nursery-style fish and chips. Sit at the bar and befriend the chatty bar men. A great choice for breakfast - good smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, and sinful lemon curd. You have to fight to get a table so book well in advance if you can
