Madison, WI--Family friendly spots.

My husband and I are going to be in Madison for the weekend with our 2 month old and would like some recommendations for family friendly restaurants. Open to all types of foods, but would like to go to a steak place one night.

    1. I think as a whole Madison is pretty kid friendly (we feel comfortable bringing our 1-year-old just about anywhere). Off the top of my head, The Old Fashioned (Wisconsin supper club influenced) and The Great Dane (brew pub) are both pretty family friendly pub-type places. The Weary Traveler (eclectic pub food) would be another place in the same vein, broadly speaking. Dotty Dumplings Dowry and the Nitty Gritty are popular for burgers.

I, personally, wouldn't feel comfortable taking my youngster into any Madison steakhouses or any of the finer dining places. That's a personal preference out of respect for fellow diners, who don't want to listen to my screaming kid while they eat a meal they paid good money for. But I'm sure just about anywhere can and will accommodate if you're looking for a more upscale meal. Madison's flexible like that.

Maybe someone can suggest a steak place that IS specifically family friendly.
