Where to take a toddler for St Paddy's Day?

Any suggestions for where I can take my toddler out for a traditional Irish meal while the SO has green beer? I can't think of any family friendly pubs in Toronto that celebrate this holiday. We tried last year without success too. Way too many drunken cougars by 5pm!

    1. St. Patrick's day is not the day to try to take a toddler to pub IMHO. Do it any other day but by 5 p.m. most people are rather tanked and not good company for little ones.

We were watching a bit on CBC this morning on a family ceilidh in St Johns Newfoundland, my son was pretty intrigued. I used to go to them in Guelph. I was hoping someone knew of a family event in Toronto.

Even one of the most family friendly places in my hood, Ceili Cottage, is only allowing folks over 19 with ID in to the space for the duration of the day today. You'll be very hard pressed to find something that works for a family today that even comes close to a pub.

thats a shame. looks like ceili cottage had their family day on sunday night.

I know it's a day late, but there had to have been 25 kids below 5 at Mitzi's Sister last night (st pats) at around 7PM! (including our own). VERY family friendly! No drunken cougars in evidence, and half price guiness!

LOL! Very funny that Mitzi's Sister had a family St. Paddy's day. I never would have guessed that at all!

They have a kids eat free night on Wednesdays I believe, Mitizi's is always family friendly-mostly early though

Family events yes, I just didn't expect that they would have a St. Paddy's day event!

crap, I shoulda though of Mitzi's. Its such a great toddler brunch spot. We ended up going out for pizza, but it just wasn't quite the same, no guiness.
