Tips for Dining, Eating, and Food Shopping in Spain and Portugal (including Madrid, Barcelona and Lisbon)

Do you know these Madrid restaurants?

Most of them are discounted on the El Tenador site and they have the feel and Mediterranean style I think I'm looking for. Are they style orver substance?

Agora, Allora Qui, Amayra, beChic Loft, Belalua, El 18, Las Tres Manolas, Malevich

    1. Allora qui is an Italian restaurant. The rest are all kind of pretentious looking, but the food should be fine. I've never heard of Agora; Amayra looks especially touristy, and Malevich looks rather cold and up itself. The others look quite nice; I'd probably go for El 18 off this list, just because it's in Barrio Salamanca, not such a tourist area. Joanie, Joanie and her never ending quest for that special treat meal! I hope you get exactly what you want after all this research!! Please let us know how it goes!!

I know, it's crazy isn't it? Now there are conflicts cuz there are shows going on two of the nites we're there and I think your rock starts a lot earlier than your dinner times. And it's weird cuz I can only find Agora on the eltenedor site, nowhere else but there are recent reviews.

Whatever, I'll figure something out, thanks.

my friend went to beChic Loft a few weeks ago. It's pretty new, and very self concious. They give you a tour, tiny potions and don't leave the bottle of wine on the table. You may love that though!! I'd splash out at lunch time, and do tapeo at dinner if there's a conflict of times.

Also I have to recommend a bar in Calle Leon, 5 called Casa Pueblo - it's open very late and has the original old style decor, but great music and a fun vibe - they do a good mojito and have some food and cakes too.
