Pierrot Bistrot

A friend of mine and I went there for the first time last night. I had a lovely meal. My friend and I split a mixed greens salad. For an entree, I got the duck breast, though I found the price of the meal to be a bit up there considering what I got (the duck breast was cooked perfectly, sliced and set in the middle of the plate, there was probably less than 1/4 cup of potatoes au gratin--more like an 1/8 cup, no lie--enough for just a taste; about 6 haricot verts, and a small carrot as well as a slice of tomato w/ bread crumbs). I don't mind normal portions at all...actually I prefer normal portions instead of the gargantuan meals most places serve, however, charging $22 when I could go to another bistro to get the same meal for maybe $14-15 is a bit of an annoyance. I'm assuming it must've been the price of duck that increased the price, not sure, but I would guess. At any rate, it was quite delicious and our server was very nice so that didn't bother me too much in the end. My friend got the spring risotto and that portion looked quite large, so seeing that, it reiterated to me that my portion paled in comparison because of the price of duck perhaps. She said she enjoyed it very much. For dessert, my friend and I split the profiteroles which were excellent. I would definitely recommend Pierrot Bistrot to others. It's quite a hidden gem. I'd walked by it many a time without really giving it much thought, but my friend works at MGH and we decided to meet down that way, so I suggested us trying it, and I am very glad we did.

Glad to hear that this place is still good. My wife and I went about three years ago when we spent a weekend in Boston and liked it very much.

I reallylike Pierrot. Doesn't get a lot of ink on this board. Nice beef bourgignon too.
