Will sing for food - looking for a good steak near Downtown for lunch / late afternoon snack

I get asked many strange questions in my job, most I can answer in a flash. But today I was stumped.

Does anyone know where to get a good steal for lunch (late afternoon around 3:30 PM) in downtown San Diego?

Apparently opera singers like to eat a big 'ol giant steak a few hours before they sing. Gives them energy and keeps them full throughout the performance.

I sent them to Cafe Chloe today where they had steak au poivre, perhaps two.

But there are more performances remaining...

I also suggested Cowboy Star which closes at 2:30 PM.. perhaps a little too early for them.

On my last trip to SD I had two nights of dining in DT. Did Cafe Chloe both nights. Just climb on that horse and keep on riding!

Cowboy Star would be at the top of the list, but the timing....

How about Suite and Tender and the Sé Hotel? I've had a splendid steak there.
