I guess I'm going with ITALIAN EASY and ITALIAN TWO EASY. I wouldn't mind Bittman, but I've had the book so long and made so many things from it that I can't get that excited.

Have you seen the revised edition? It's a complete overhaul, somewhat rethought and with greater emphasis on home cooking (as distinct from "gourmet" cooking), as well as scads of new recipes and information.

This brings up an important question: which HTCE edition would we be cooking from? I'm kinda done with the original (especially since a North American writer somehow decided "everything" doesn't include Mexican food beyond refried beans and a blah bean burrito recipe), but the new edition might be a different story.
