Need Italian Restaurant Recommendation

My husband is running the NYC half marathon this weekend, and we will be staying in the city with our 2 teenagers. We need a recommendation for a casual Italian restaurant for Saturday night where my husband can get some really good pasta, but nothing too formal or heavy. We are staying in the East 50s, so preferably something in that area.
