South Bay Banh Mi

I'm not one to start posts, since there are much more adventurous souls than moi. But the #1 banh mi at L'Amour des Baguettes on Story Road in San Jose is something worth savoring at a giveaway price. The chewy French bread is well suited to a sandwich, the various vegetables are crisp, and the pate has caramel overtones...which is a good thing! (Of course, in the South Bay, that means "not immediate".)

L'Amour des Baguettes has closed, but I'm told that one or more of the owners is running the newly opened Phat Tri. Would love to hear whether the new place also earns a rave.
