Roadtrip: Dallas to Saint Paul

I won't have a lot of time for stops, but if there are any wonderful foods to purchase along the way, I'd love to hear about them. When I made this trip last year, I stopped at LaDonna's (sp?) in Tulsa and purchased Rancho Gordo beans and some other goodies.

Also, any wonderful places to stop for a good quick meal (not fast food, but not a sit down dinner at a white-tablecloth place). I am looking for little cafes with excellent home cooking close to the road.

I can take either of these routes back:

Dallas---Tulsa---Kansas City--Des Moines---Saint Paul

OR

Dallas---Oklahoma City---Wichita---Kansas City---Des Moines---Saint Paul

Also, in Dallas, I understand that some of the big grocery chains carry excellent flour tortillas---can anyone advise re store and brand of tortilla?

This trip came up fast, so I don't have much time to plan and search for great little places to eat and places to buy foods to bring home.

Thanks very much for any help you can give.

Hit Stroud's on the way towards KC. It is just to the North of town on I35. Great chicken and a nice place.

I mapquested Stroud's and may stop there on the way back, depending on when I pass through that area.
Thanks for this tip. The sides look wonderful!

The Tulsa route takes you close to Chicken Mary's and Chicken Annie's near Pittsburg, KS.

Here is a story about them:
