Where's the best (not most expensive) food in Tucson?

Will be in Tucson next week and will be staying at the Loew's Ventana Canyon. We will have a car so don't mind traveling if its worth it. Looking for the best food in Tucson -- not necessarily the most expensive. What does Tucson have to offer that I can't find in my home in Washington, DC? Where would you take you best friend to dinner, lunch or breakfast?

Thanks in advance for your recommendations.

  1. What Tucson has to offer that you won't find anywhere else is the best Mexican food in the USA! Most of the good ones are on any street preceeded by South, as in S. 4th Ave.
