Meskerem in Charlotte...

seems to have a good reputation. Can anyone here give me your opinions?

I ate there recently and thought the food was very good, although that was my first and only experience with Ethiopian cuisine, so my opinion may not mean much. I wish it had a little more atmosphere, but its definitely somewhere I'd return to.

I think it is excellent. We've had a few Ethiopian places in Charlotte over the years, but this is my favorite. People are very nice as well.

I've eaten there several times over the past year with friends & family. Like others, I'm no real expert in Ethopian food, but we've all enjoyed it. I used to go to Red Sea near CPCC, but service & cleanliness were so lacking, I wrote that place off.

The staff at Meskerem are very friendly & helpful with questions. I'd recommend that you give it a try.

Thanks. I've only had Ethiopian in Boston and DC, which are (no offense to CLT) a little more cosmopolitan, so I was curious about the quality, but I will head over there soon to check it out.

The D.C. area is well-known for great Ethiopian; Meskerem is definitely as good as any you're likely to find around here. Again, it is very friendly and they have a vegetarian lunch buffet Tues. through Thurs. - one of the only buffets I enjoy (although dinner is decidedly better still).
