Food & Restaurant DELIVERY in the Atwater / St-Henri area

Can we compile a comprehensive list of decent restraurants that will deliver within the region bordering Atwater Market?

It seems like the only edible neighborhood delivery option is Sul Viale for Pizza or MakMak for Thai and even that's evenings only. I just can't believe there is nothing else on Notre-Dame or even around Atwater above St-Cathe to turn to for home delivery in the area. It's the one frustration I've always had with living in the Hen!

What are the options for delivery in this neighborhood besides the plethora of awful greasy spoons that will bring you frozen french fries and rubber cheeseburgers to your door?

I've had to rely on a few reliable and timeworn comfort faves like Chalet Bar-B-Q... but there's gotta be morevariety of food and places that will deliver to my apt. on St-Ambroise! It doesn't even have to be NEARBY, as long as they are willing to fill a delivery order!

Could be any cuisine, the more suggestions the better... just give me SOMETHING other than MakMak, Chalet or A La Carte!!! Only thing I'm looking to avoid is the New System type of diners... unless there's a lesser-known spot that cooks up really good burgers!

Suggestions please... let's start to compile a list!!!

Fang Chi - awesome chinese food, great prices. On Ste-Antoine just across from the park near Laporte I believe. Funny place but they'll do dishes as you please. Am not a huge fan of the peanut butter dumplings but their tom yum soup is delish.

Fang Chi was one of the worst dinners I've ever had in Montreal. We ate in-house and the tofu was fried to the point of being chewy and the sauce was bland.

I finally ordered MakMak delivery in a moment of dire hunger this week and both dishes were tasteless aside from the spice (which wasn't much).

I'll keep looking, I suppose.

Ya I tried MakMAK recently for delivery and the pad thai was really disappointing. Im gonna stick to picking up everything myself.

i agree. Although the quantity was very generous, i had a hard time finishing it. Everything was bland, tasteless and has a very very strong taste of fish sauce.

Maybe it's because they don't use MSG(on their menu, Mak Mak states they don't use MSG). I'm guessing vast majority of Asian restaurants in Montreal cheat a bit by using MSG.

It has nothing to do with MSG - they are just very light on the spicing - even when I order their soup at their spiciest level, it's still pretty tame, and not the most flavourful either. But there aren't exactly a huge number of asian choices in the area otherwise...

I live in the area and the only thing Ill get for delivery is Sushi. Kaizen, Kashima or Miso. All are rip offs though, sushi in general is I guess... Otherwise I just go pick everything up myself. Ill drive so far to get what Im craving.

I didn't know makmak delivered! I used to have a bit of a weakness for New System chicken and fries, but have mostly gotten over it. Too bad Bon Appetit doesn't deliver - they are close by, though.
I am always stumped when I want delivery down here.

I think MakMak only delivers after 4pm or 5pm which sucks for a hungover weekend lunch fix when you just don't want to crawl out of bed or put on a pair of pants! It's a great value though, whether eating in, taking out or ordering; I think I've sampled every last menu option so far!

Also Le Chez-Vous , on Centre in Point St. Charles [phone], would very likely deliver there (quite good Indian, BTW).

mirchi's delivers indian to verdun, so i bet they would deliver to where you are too. Also try woodland in verdun for brochettes type food and pizza.

i am not sure. The few times i have been to the restaurent (we usually have them deliver) i did not see anyone who looked like they were from India or surrounding countries.

They do deliver, I live on St-Ambroise and i have ordered from them a couple of times, i like their pizza with the meat sauce instead of only tomato sauce.

I've never tried Connie's but are the non-pizza offerings any good (ie. subs, burgers, etc) or is this strictly a pizza only place?

If I ordered chicken fingers or a cheeseburger, would I just get some taseteless frozen crap or is it decent diner food all around?

Connie's was the go to Pizza place in the Point when I lived there 20 years ago. Even when I was on welfare I used to indulge on occasion. Classic stuff, glad to hear they're still around and thriving. Making me hungry just thinking about it.
