Tips for Dining, Eating, and Food Shopping in Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, and The Bronx

Love for Kenny's Trattoria in Williamsburg

I just wanted to big up this place. It's at 7 withers street, a short walk from the L at Bedford. Seriously awesome wood-oven pizza (Kenny used to have a place called Brick Oven Gallery that was known for pizza) and the other dishes are great too--unpretentious, well-prepared large pastas; awesome calamari and truly some of the best tomato sauce in Brooklyn. I think they deliver? Anyway, it's kind of under the radar, not crowded, affordable, delicious and a great option in the neighborhood. I heard they have outdoor eating in the summer too, but I just started eating here so I haven't experienced this yet.

So far I have tried the pizza, prosciutto-wrapped shrimp cooked in the pizza oven and served on a bed of greens with a balsamic reduction, pasta bolognese, calamari, home-made ricotta spinach ravioli in tomato sauce, and this eggplant caponata type dish that Kenny calls "Brooklyn caviar" and cesar salad. All of it rocked.
