Hamilton Venue Needed
I'm putting together a Bridal Shower this coming August and need a venue in or around Hamilton. We're looking at a Sunday in August for lunch or brunch for around 80 ladies.
Our ideal location would be a moderately-sized restaurant with outdoor space that we could take over for the event. My first concern is quality food, followed by an attractive space that doesn't need much in the way of decor. We're not at all interested in banquet halls. For the right combination at the right price, we'd be fine with an interesting space and a great caterer. The Bride and her party are centred in Hamilton, but we're looking at places anywhere between St Catherines and Burlington.
And, inevitably, we're working with a small-ish budget and a fairly conservative crowd.
All and any recommendations for a restaurant, a space or a caterer would be very much appreciated!
Have you considered the Ancaster Old Mill. Although the food is not particularly stellar, one cannot understate the ambience of the location. If you are willing to travel a bit farther afield, this one may surprise you, Brantford Golf and Country Club has an excellent chef, good prices and a very attractive location on the Grand River. Its a popular location for young lovers starting their lives together and could fit the bill for your bridal shower.

You should definitely check out Nina's Bistro & Wine Bar (http://www.ninasbistro.ca/)
It's at Locke & Main. I went to a friend's bridal shower here and it was very well executed. They did a fantastic job, and worked with the bride to get everything right - customize the menu, tables and room arrangements. The food was amazing, everyone commented on the meal, and the setting is very classy - perfect for a "conservative" crowd.
