Sandiagos (Firehouse) at the tram

tattud_gurl Mar 12, 2010 05:20 AM

Is this place any good? Used to eat here when it was the Firehouse, YEARS ago.
A friend wants to take us to dinner there and I'm just not feelin' it.
High Finance is always good, tho, but it's been a good 18 years since I lived in ABQ and ate there...........

There's never been a decent restaurant up there. You pay for the view, not the food.

My wife and I live near there, and went once and did not much care for it. The service was good, the food at best mediocre, and the prices flat-out high for what you got. We've never been back.

But we may have ordered wrong (IIRC, I figured "Gringos and red chile - no go," and went with green chile chicken enchiladas that turned out to be nothing special). I have a friend who really likes their shredded beef and red chile - he brought some by the house one time, and I have to say that it was good (though the chile was watery).

I have no idea how they're still in business.
