Droste cocoa?

doc_k55 Mar 11, 2010 04:07 PM

Last few years I was able to buy KofP Droste cocoa but this year I saw none and a search on the circle K website did not yield hits. Anyone know what the story is? I love this cocoa.

I don't know if the OK (circle K) has the same policy as the OU. In the OU Passover Guide, it says that you can buy any cocoa powder that has the OU year round, for use on Pesach. This may not be true for the OK, however.

Really? Now I am going back to my first idea, which was to order a case!

the droste I bought had an OK with a "p" and the words to paraphrase-kosher for passover and all year long

        also, if you look here

you will see that the OK certifies droste "boy and girl" cocoa as kosher pareve and kosher for passover

The CRC 2010 guide indicates that 100% pure cocoa powder, except if it is processed in Europe, does not need a symbol. So if you abide by that, I guess you have to find the Droste that has the P. I am not sure where you live, but I bought Droste cocoa with the OK-P symbol a few weeks back in Waldbaums .

I was in Brooklyn today - no luck; and at Stop & Shop in White Plains - no luck. Didn't look that carefully at Supersol in Scarsdale.
