Rancho Bernardo???

Can anyone recommend a small chef-owned restaurant in Rancho Bernardo, or a good strip-mall ethnic place?

I've lived in RB for a long time and being fairly entrenched in all things food (worked in the food biz for 6+ years), I can say there's not a lot to be found that's great in these parts. A few things are pretty solid though. Pho Ca Dao, Pho Hoang, Yanni's Bistro (Scripps Ranch), Cafe Luna, Love Boat Sushi, Yummy Sushi, Kebab Shop (in Mira Mesa), and although I haven't been, I've heard a lot of good feedback on Cavillon

I'll add Delhi Kitchen in Carmel Mountain and Mr Hummos on Poway Rd.

Cafe Luna in Carmel Ranch is pretty delicious. It looks like nothing from the outside but quite tasty and the ambiance is delightful. Located by Carls Junior and Bev Mo. Chief' makes a few specials daily. They are always dellcous.

Delhi Kitchen is great. We were pulled in by all the Indian people eating there, figured it was a good sign. THey make your naan fresh to order, which I wasn't expecting for a fast food type place.

FYI...Mr Hummos has been gone for at least a month or two.

A new pho place is going in. Wasn't open as of this past Saturday evening. We ended up at the new Ca Dao in RB, which was pretty nice. Much nicer location than the one in Mira Mesa.

French Market Grille is pretty decent in RB.
Luc's Bistro in Poway.
Yanni's Bistro in Poway/Scripps Poway Parkway was good but its been awhile.
Pamir Kebob House Poway Rd/North Park Produce..have not been but heard great things.

Gonna have to try Pegasus Cafe!

Pamir Kebob House moved to Temecula. The owners lived there and the daily travel to Poway was too much.

Thanks for the Cavaillon suggestion. Solid French cooking. Delicious short ribs and very nice wine-by-the-glass list. What I had was priced fairly. I'll return next time I am in town.

Pegasus was in our regular rotation when we lived in RB, but it has been a few years.

Bernardo's was being lauded a year or two ago for somewhat of a resurgence, but I've not seen any recent reports on it.
