C5 shared plates

jennjen18 Mar 10, 2010 09:53 AM

Just wondering if anyone's tried the "To Share" portion of their menu...? It seems nice.. if everyone wants to share, but not sure what they really want as well. How does it work? Do you have to have a minimum # of people at the table? If it's just 2 people, and 1 person wants veggie, the other wants seafood... would you still be able to order it? And share it...?

I have mixed feelings about C5. The food has settled in nicely (most recently I had the tasting menu) - but the service is mostly amateurish. Maybe only being open a few days per week means that the better servers leave for a full-time position.

On your specific question, I didn't notice that section previously. My advice would be to call FIRST and see if you can order a 'sharing portion for 1' . If not, tell them you won't be coming!

Despite the relatively good food, the whole blurb for this restaurant tends to annoy me.
"Executive Chef Ted Corrado’s choices closely reflect his personal flair and extensive training at award-winning restaurants."

It would be nice to know which Award winning restaurants these were - he's been in Toronto for at least the past 10-15 years. And, of course, exactly what these Awards are.
