Yamashiros? yes or no

Anyone been to Yamashiro's lately? I know the view is great, but haven't been there in years and years

Everyone should go to Yamashiro once. You've been.

If you can swing an invite to the Magic Castle, sushi and cocktails here and dinner at the castle and you have a beautiful night.

The L Word did an episode there on the last season. It is a beautiful view. Enjoy!

It's worth going to the night market. Even the valet for the night market is cheaper and better food (not great) at the stalls. Lot's of fun on warn Thursday nights.

Haven't been for a few years but I'd agree that the view is wonderful but the food is for people who are not familiar with real Japanese cuisine, or just don't care that much. Mediocre at best. I feel the same way about Benihana.

Think about it, there's probably a very good reason why you "haven't been there in years and years" ... and it's probably not because you're afraid of heights.

A pre-dinner cocktail party with some appetizers would work well. The view is not only great, you are sitting in history. This was the officer's club at Bridges of Toko Ri (most likely have the wrong movie but I know i will be corrected). For the foregoing and for the foregoing only I highly rcommend the place.

Sayonara (Marlon Brando) was filmed there.

Thank you for reminding me. I knew it was used in a movie but wasn't quite sure which one. It's old Hollywood and worth visiting if only for drinks and appetizers.

I agree. I had some friends out and we did a "Hollywood" dinner, drinks/apps at Yamashiro's and then on to the Dresden Room for dinner and to see Marty and Elayne. If you aren't expecting much food-wise, you can have a blast.

It was mediocre for me as well. The entire menu could really use a Gordon Ramsey makeover. However, they still do a ton of business.

view is still great and the food is still mediocre at best.
