What area? Where are you going to dinner?

Not firmed up yet. Possibly, Koi, or SLS.

Firstly, why would you eat at either, and secondly, all the recs so far are not even remotely near by.
Are you more interested in the winebar selections, the food at the restaurant, or exactly what?
As I post, you have no answers, yet many questions in your mind.
If you are staying at a hotel in that area, then probably that hotel will have a place to provide two glasses of quality wine, be it the Andax, the London, the SLS, or any other place. Then just determine what it is you want to eat, and where you want to do so.

Corkbar if you'll be downtown.

If downtown, Bottlerock has much food/service/wine than Corkbar.

Downtown you have 3 choices: Corkbar, Bottlerock and The Must. The Must is a very busy place in the historic core. I like all three but The Must is the most fun, inexpensive and has great small plates.
