Late Night Eats in YYC

Know any good places that open late (preferably not fast food, greasy type stuff)? Name the place, what's good to eat there, and how late it opens till. Thanks. :D

I'd like to update this post; it's a little old. Does anyone have any other suggestions for a late night bite? We'd like to go out to a play downtown and then have a meal and drink (not chinese or pub).

Pharaoh's has changed ownership...went in late last night and things have already changed inside. They will also be changing the name soon.

I told them the food has always been great, I hope they listened...my Shawarma was a little dry, hopefully an abberation as it was their first 'new' night of operations.

I went with my friends to eat at Harbor City, in Chinatown, it was so good! The food were amazing, I like their dessert the most, the walnut dessert, really sweet, and just at the right thickness.

Anything shawarma. There are lots of options...Shawarma Knight off 17th or Shawarma King in Kensington are both tasty. A&A is by far my #1 pick, but they arn't open very late.
**Note: If you've had a bit to drink, just make sure you eat your Shawarma at the table with lots of napkins (once tried to take my boots off sitting on the edge of my bed while devouring a chicken shawarma...most of it ended up in bed rather than my mouth)

Just tried Shawarma Knight and loved it. The meat is moist, and there's a good amount of spice in it (not heat, but flavour). I also like that double wrap thing they do (pita inside, some thin flatbread outside). It keeps everything squished together and non-messy.

I'd have to second this, one of the best thin crust pizza's I've had in Calgary (much better than Pulcinella) even though it's not wood fired. They use the Q water system like Rush as well.

The salted cod appetizer was awesome!

Manie's Greek restaurant on 17 Ave - when I worked at a nightclub, our staff used to go for souvlaki platters, wings, or greek pizza after work here. They were open until 4am but on their website it says the dining room is now open until 1am and delivery until 5am.

Una pizza & wine - my favs are their neopolitan style mushroom pizza, their flatiron steak, the pintxos, zucchini ribbons, and panna cotta (open until 1am).

I remember we used to go to a few places in Chinatown late night - U & Me, Harbour City. Not sure if they are still open late. I've gotten too old and settled to be going out late and eating late.

U & Me opens till 4 am. They have some decent non-greasy foods like certain dim sum items and congee on there midnight menu.
Harbour city still opens late, but I'm not sure till what time.
That restaurant beside Lambda (Sun Chiu Kee, I think?) use to be open till around 4am, but I went a long time ago and I'm not sure if they still open late.

I tend to be drawn to horrible greasy food late at night, so I'd probably go to Tubby Dog (lol), BUT, since you don't want greasy food, my vote goes to Una Pizza as well!

I'm not sure about Sun's, but its sister HK-style café Calgary Court in Chinatown is open at least until midnight.

Pharaoh's Diner at 16th Ave/9 St SW is open untli 3a Sun-Thurs and 5a Fri-Sat. Absolutely fantastic shawarma and falafel.

I must try Pharaoh's Diner late one night, that sounds great!

When I lived in Ottawa, we had fantastic late night Shawarma places and also a few 24hr diners...too bad we don't have any here in Calgary.

There's Blackfoot Truck Stop (close to Inglewood). Not great food, but it is open 24 hours.

Ottawa has a tiny fraction of the Chinatown, the Chinese population, and the late-late night Chinese options that Calgary has. So you lose some, you win some.
