Happy National Crabmeat Day!

No, i didn't know that March 9 was National Crabmeat Day until a few moments ago. But coincidentallly, I had a bite of delicious red pepper crab salad spiked with paprika, capers and red onion in pintxo form at lunch today at Lizarran Tapas Restaurant in Gilroy. Here's the photo:

How are you celebrating National Crabmeat Day?

    1. I celebrated early by enjoying the soft shell crab at the Broken Record last Thursday. It was fantastic

Glad to hear the food's still chow-worthy at Broken Record.

          • Melanie - that marvelous-looking thing was only $1.75? Amazing.

While the pintxo is piled high, the base is a small slice of baguette. But even so, this was a great bargain for $1.75. I have many other photos and will post a full report, just have to find the time to upload my photos. Or maybe go there another time. Found out that the Gilroy Lizarran is a franchise, and couldn't help thinking about the current controversy up in Windsor over someone who wants to open a new Denny's in town. How I wish somebody would bring Lizarran to town instead of Denny's or another Olive Garden!

Fast, casual, delicious & cheap. Service quite good too and eager to please. Lizarran is considering making green sangria for St Paddy's day.
