ISO Happy Hour Dim Sum in Missisauga

wyf Mar 9, 2010 09:43 AM

A bunch of my coworkers are looking to go out for happy hour dim sum in Mississauga. Any suggestions for good ones? And what would the price range and hours be?

"Happy Hour"as in late aft/early evening or cheapo time after 2pm? You'll be hard-pressed to find dimsum on offer after about 3pm. The only place I know that cranks out dimsum in off hours is Tremendous--OK but not lunchtime quality.

Julie, regarding Perfect Kitchen, what are its weekend hours? Everytime we have gone there on a Sunday (11am through 11.30am) we have always found it closed and so end up at the one on the NE corner of Dundas and Winston Churchill (I can't remember the name right now, but it is cart service) or at Grand (which we absolutely love).

Really ? I have a menu at work so I will take a look - might be noon that they open on Sunday. The restaurant at the NE corner is Summit Gardens which is pretty good as well - better when they first opened and it was "white glove" service. Will check the times at Perfect Kitchen and report back. Where is "Grand"?

Thank you! Summit Garden - I have been wracking my brain about this.
Grand Chinese is the one near the airport in the Doubletree hotel. We first tried it after reading BokChoi's review posted some time ago (I lurked for a long time). We are now one of their regulars :)

The dim sum place in the Mississauga Chinese Centre (Dundas just east of Cawthra), I think it is called Sun Sun, had an AYCE dim sum last time I was there about a month ago. They used to have discounted dim sum after 2pm during the week.

Quality? Restos in that mall have been slammed for credit card scams along with sketchy food. Too many other places around Mississauga for better dimsum. AYCE dimsum or sushi always seems a false economy.

When I like Chinese food and dim sum places, its because they are dirty, smelly, loud and generally have a lack of communication in some way. Somewhere along the way, I have construed these attributes as character.

Its far from being the best Dim Sum place in the world.

I have to agree. Sun Sun's charm is definately it's ambiance!

If you pay cash and enjoy a first name relationship with a gastroenterologist, then SunSun is your place. The whole mall is a malodorous pit compared to other Chinese restos around Mississauga.Even Tremendous does better on a bad day. "Dive" restos just don't cut it.

Best Friend Restaurant in that mall is good and not at all sketchy.

This is true - don't use a credit card or you may find two executive class tickets to hong kong charged to your card - happened to me. However they do have some dim sum items that I can't find in many other places.

Where is a better AYCE dimsum in Missisauga?

AFAIK nothing much has changed since the previous posts. Like AYCE sushi, AYCE dimsum is kind of a false economy. There's always Mandarin but the good stuff isn't giveaway priced, sorry.

                    Hi Jamie
Do you know if they still offer the AYCE dim sum?
