It's a Sausage-fest!

So I have about 10 lbs of sausage sitting in my garage (don't ask why...) and I am not sure what to do with it. Anyone have a favorite sausage recipe they want to share? Dinner/ Main course recipes would be especially appreciated.

  1. What kind of sausage? That would partly determine what recipes are appropriate.

    1. I get a lot of sausage from my son, an avid hunter, so my garage freezer is never without a fresh supply. I use sausage, stripped of its casings, as the main ingredient in S.O.S., as a component in meat loaf, as the meat ingredient for savory strata, and I often combine it with diced potatoes as part of a breakfast menu. We like it fried, baked, broiled, boiled, grilled, sliced and fried in sandwiches, served with sauerkraut, fried potatoes, cooked inside a puff pastry or as an ingredient is preparing horsĀ· d'oeuvres.

      1. Beans! Soak the beans overnight, brown the sausage, fry up some garlic, onions, and peppers, add the beans and simmer until tender (you can then mash up some of the beans and add them back in to thicken up the pot liquor). Delicious!
