Chinatown Fish Market
Looking for a fish market prefarably south of Canal.. I have seen people ask before and get vague suggestions..People giving whereabouts and places close by.. I am sure, if I just walked around I would be able to find my own place..
However, I will be driving this evening and want to have an exact address and store name.. I am hoping to call ahead and place an order..
If you have a place and an address, I would appreciate it..

I've bought from both Ocean Star and the one across Grand Street (Hai Sein?) with success. I probably would check out Ocean Star's seafood first but in the end it's more what looks fresh at the time. I think that Hai Sein has some more interesting pre-packaged items, both meat and seafood, and also houses a small frozen dumpling counter where bags of 50 are for sale (though if you go to Prosperity Dumpling or Lam Shou on East Broadway you can save a dollar or two).
I'm glad that small h has recommended Aqua Best. I've looked at it several times - if you're eating in the window seats of Pho Grand it's hard to miss - and it certainly seems very appealing and well stocked. In particular, its razor clams and blue crabs seem to be especially active on a regular basis.

re: Daniel76
You're welcome. I just checked Google Street View because I think the one across from Ocean Star is even better than Ocean Star and voila! That market is called The Hai Sein Co. & the phone number is 966-7878 (according to the awning). You can take a nice virtual stroll around Chinatown right from your desk!
