Poor service at Esquire Grill--Sacramento
We went for dinner before Paula Poundstone at The Crest. They were packed but we did not have to wait for our table that we had reserved. We did not see a waiter for 15 minutes though and did not get anything to drink for nearly 25 minutes. I saw a lady eating what appeared to be a bisque and it was not on the menu. The waiter asked to take our order so had to ask about the specials. He told us hurridly about the lobster bisque soup and some pasta dish...later, I found out he forgot to tell us about the prime rib...which is what I would have ordered.
The food was very good...except for the croutons that my husband nearly broke a crown on. I am glad we got there two hours early...as it was, we just made it in time for Paula's show.
We have no desire to return and my husband only left a 10% tip. He was pissed that it took him 23 minutes to get a beer! He never got over it either. Don't even ask how long it took to get our wine.

i hate to say it but i find this true at almost all of the paragary restaurants. one time walked out of paragarys because after half an hour no one had come to our table even after repeated times of saying "someoen will be right there!" and it was not busy. as we walkted past hostess stand she said, thanks for coming, see you soon!!

re: toncasmo
She said the same to us...but I said, "the service was horrid and we won't return". She just smiled and said, "oh sorry".
We even told the waiter we were disappointed and he at least only blamed himself. They need bar waitstaff and better trained waiters! At least at PEAK times.,...
