re: westsidegal
I like Mao's Kitchen for California-inspired Chinese food. Ironically, I just ordered Mao's for delivery.
These are the best bets at Mao's: Coconut curry, fried rice, curried rice noodles, onion pancake, dumplings of any sort. I like that they offer fish or smoked tofu in every dish.

re: bulavinaka
i second hop woo. they have this addictive chicken with spicy sweet garlic sauce thats good. and i also like their eggplant. their congee is so-so (edible, definitely), their duck is a little fatty but also good if you need a fix, and their walnut shrimp is not bad.
overall, i recommend it, its the best on the west side for sure.

Others will post that there's no decent Chinese food in West L.A. and that you have no taste if you think so; that to get good stuff, you have to go to Monterey Park or even New York. Some will probably tell you there's none outside of China or maybe even there.
Leaving all that aside, I've generally been happy with the food from Fu's Palace, which is on Pico near Robertson. That may be a little far from you. As a second choice, I've had some good meals from Hop Li, over on Pico near Sepulveda.

Check with Hu's http://www.husrestaurant.com/ over in Palms about their delivery area to see if they will make it to your house. We also get delivery from Cheng Du on Pico (across the street from the SF Saloon) and Lin's on Pico at Barrington. You also might try take out (don't think they do delivery) from Little Hong Kong on Sawtelle just north of Olympic in the same mini mall with Hurry Curry and Restaurant 2117.
