Hardy's BBQ in Bethesda, mmm,mmm,good!

I just went for the second Sunday in a row to Hardy's BBQ Truck. It is next to Suburban Hospital on Old Georgetown Road in the parking lot of the little store. Both times I had the pulled pork sandwich with extra sauce on the side and cole slaw. The pork is tender (but not too tender) and smoky and the sauce is the perfect blend of sweet, hot and tangy! They have other stuff, pit beef, ribs, chicken, smoked turkey, but the sandwich is so good I just had to have it again! It all looked and smelled good!

I read this post and got all excited - tried to go there today (Sat.) I arrived about 12:30 - the truck was there with the signs out and a small sign saying "opens at 11:00 a.m." -- but the truck was all closed up and no one was around. Another guy showed up also wanting BBQ. He too was puzzled about where the guy was; he had been before. I asked him how late they were open and he said he had gotten BBQ at 4:00 the last time so they were open at least that late. I went to see a movie. After that, about 3:30, I went back to Hardy's. No truck - the guy had gone. VERY annoying. So, to amend what life said, he is at Montgomery Farm Womens Cooperative Market In Bethesda at 7155 Wisconsin Ave. every Sat. -- except when, you know, something else comes up.

Hello this is Hardy's. Due to the weather we were not able to prepare to come out this past weekend. I apologize for that being there to serve you. Please stop by this weekend and have a pulled pork sandwich on us. You will be delighted that you have given us a second opportunity to serve you.

I stopped by today and got a very delicious pulled pork sandwich from Hardy's. It was killer - very hot and juicy pork on a soft, hot, fresh bun. I could have used a spicier sauce - the next time I go I'll ask if there are choices.

"Miami Hurricane" was at the smoker, which was full of fantastic-looking-and-smelling ribs. I want to try those on my next visit.

          I also see they do catering: 240-893-3182 / hardyribschicken@yahoo.com/

Their flyer says they are there every Sat. from 9 - 5.

Same parking lot as Salt River's on Fridays? Open only on Sundays? Times? Do tell.

Hardy's is in the parking lot of the Bethesda Community Store, you can't miss the signs. It's one block north of Suburban Hospital.

I just had the ribs, beef brisket sandwich, and baked beans. The beans were so sweet that they tasted like apple pie filling.

When is this place opened? Everyday? Just on weekends?

Weekends only until warm weather is my understanding. Went there last Sunday and got pork (2 pints), turkey (1 pint), brisket (2 pints), and a whole chicken plus sides. Didn't have ribs when we got there late in the afternoon. That fed 12 for under $90 and had some left over. Different people have different preferences where BBQ is concerned but I'd say this is pretty darn good.

What happened to Hardy's?? Do they close for the summer? I sought them out this afternoon only to find another, far worse, BBQ stand it their place.
