Decent, mid-priced American fare in Schaumburg?

Hey all,

I have to have a casual business meetup in Schaumburg, and I'm trying to find a fairly decent restaurant in the area that has the most agreeable menu for a group of people. American fare, entrees in the $10-$20 range, something like that. Anything come to mind, or am I stuck with the chains?

I got one suggestion of Ram, but I remember that being a bit more of a meat market than I would like around dinnertime on a Monday. If my memory is incorrect, feel free to let me know.

Another great choice that may be priced a bit higher than your specified range - depending which entrees you choose - is Entourage in Schaumburg.

My wife and I have dined there together several times, and my wife even more often with friends, and we have always been extremely happy with both the food and the service.

I second Entourage. Great food and would be a great business environment. Nice since it is not a chain (at least that I know of) like most places in Schaumburg.

According to the restaurant's website, the intent is to build a chain starting with the Schaumburg location, and most of the experience of the principals has been with large corporate chains.

Looks like Entourage is now closed.

I recommend Shaw's Crab House ( www.shawscrabhouse.com ), although it's a bit above your stated price range, with seafood entrees mostly in the twenties, and steaks in the thirties. Wildfire ( www.wildfirerestaurant.com ), the steakhouse, is another option slightly above your price range, with entrees averaging in the upper twenties.

If those are too pricey for you, then I suggest Maggiano's ( www.maggianos.com ). Yes, it's a chain, but they do a good job, and have a nice variety of foods; if you don't like the Italian items, you can get a steak or one of their dinner salads (I think their salads are among the best anywhere).
