Sandwiches near Queen and Bay

  • 4

Hi there, long time reader, first time poster.

I use to work over near Queen and Broadview and would enjoy eating the sandwiches and salads from Loic Gourmet. I've recently been transferred to the Queen and Bay area and I'm looking for a decent take-out sandwich place. It would have to be within a 5-10 minute walk of Queen and Bay. Price isn't a huge concern, I'm just looking for quality ingredients and good food.

Thanks everyone for their suggestions!

  1. Hmn. If you liked Loic, then I think you'd like the sammies over at Petite Thuet. I haven't had them myself, but the general consensus on the boards seems to be positve. South-West corner of King and Yonge. Should be about a 10 minute walk or less!

I also recommend Petite Thuet - I think they have the best sandwiches in the financial district in terms of quality ingredients (e.g. they use actual ham - not sandwich meat ham), if you like French style sandwiches. Ham & cheese is simple and delightful and excellent quality. They also have good salads. The selection is not huge.

Another good lunch pick is Petit Four, in the concourse of Commerce Court (SE corner of King & Bay), near the food court where the PATH joins TD Tower & Commerce Court. They have a nice selection of gourmet quality sandwiches (e.g. sliced egg & smoked salmon, chipotle chicken, etc.) and also have excellent soups. I think they have the best deal in the finanical district for gourmet soup & sandwich or soup & salad combos, quality-wise, and the price is quite reasonable relative to PATH food court prices generally.

    2. There's the Sandwich Box on Richmond, just west of Bay. You can get a pre-made sandwich or a custom one, and they have soups and sandwiches and all that.
