San Antonio at end of March

I will be attending a conference at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country resort at the end of March. We'll probably be looking to get out for dinner a few nights--most likely with a group. Suggestions for good upscale tex/mex or other not-to-miss restaurants? How far will we be from the Riverwalk?

You've probably looked over other SA postings on this board already. The top link below references tex-mex, bottom one is white tablecloth spots. The good news is that your hotel is a very nice place in a charming, secluded location. Bad news is that you're looking at a 17 mile drive to downtown, a little less if you're headed to the other culinary epicenter (Stone Oak/1604 area). There are several little hole in the wall places (mostly ethnic) that are in the NW quadrant, but it's almost all chains on the major roads. Taquerias are ubiquitous in San Antonio, great for lunch; and there is a Rudy's BBQ on 151 close to your resort.

Don't know if you're going to have access to a car but, if so, would suggest that you round up a few of your fellow conference attendees and head out to Luling one morning for barbecue at City Market.
