Looking for spots like The Moose, The Order of the Elk, Volunteer Fire Departments, Sideyards of hard working Christians trying to make an extra buck etc
Where are your favorite non traditional places to eat fish during Lent?
I didn't see the Cathedral listed on the calendar (the irony!). They have catfish from 5:30-7:00. I thought it was tasty. Best to go after 6 when the fryers are all up to temp, however!
The Diocese of Austin has a listing of Friday Fish Frys at local Catholic churches.
St. Louis Catholic Church on Burnet has a great one. The Knights of Columbus put it on, it's very popular, and everything is home-made (the breading for the fish, coleslaw dressing, beans--all home-made.)http://www.tkofc.org/events/v/fish-fr...
