August has a new menu!

We hadn't been to August for a while, and we were missing it. It's a charming BYOB (cash only) and we've never had a bad meal there.

They changed their menu - a whole bunch of $10 small plates, larger than an appetizer but smaller than an entree. There were so many enticing choices that it was hard to decide.
For me, two small plates was plenty. The guys each had a small plate and an entree size.

They still have the old favorites and always have a couple of specials.
Among the dishes the four of us ordered: beet salad (fresh and good), scallops (great!), smelts, a new ravioli dish (marvelous), other pastas but can't remember what they were.

There is a small dessert list; every one is excellent. Homemade pies - mmmm!

August is at 13th and Wharton. We always find street parking with no problem.
This is a happy place to be.

Reviving this old thread--anyone else have any recent reports from August and the new menu?

We were there a couple of weeks ago and it was delicious, as always.
I know that they will be on vacation a couple of weeks in August - if not sooner - so be sure to check before you go.

Man I grew up literally half a block from this place - it used to be a corner store - and have been meaning to get there since it opened. However, the smallish menu and highish prices were a little off-putting, despite the great reviews. I'm definitely going to have to check them out now.
