Anguilla Veya or Blanchards

My husband and I have won a trip to Anguilla with his company. We are able to eat one night at either Veya or Blanchards. Which would you choose and why? We are not paying, so money doesn't matter.
Thanks for your help!

  1. Veya all the way..B's is too inconsistent ..or has been from personal reviews from friends...Veya is very consistent....What a lucky girl...If you can after if a Thur. go to Pumphouse for rum punch and music or across the street to Elvis's for music..tell him Annie from Bonaire sent ya. Sand Bar is new and has great tapas. My fav rum punch is Ferry Boat and wing night on Wed. Luna Rosa hands down amazing swordfish special and desserts,

Good news is you can't go wrong either way but I would echo phelana's comment about Blanchard's inconsistency. I personally have not dined at Veya but have heard great things about it.

Thanks for the advice. We will be there Thurs-Sun, so will definitely check out Pumphouse and Elvis's at some point I hope. I am very very lucky! You can't beat a free trip to Anguilla!! April can't come soon enough.

Also, what is the best way to get around? We will be staying at Cap Jaluca and heard that taxis are outrageously priced. Thanks for your help!

rent a car from Ronnie Bryan. You will want one to explore the easy to get around island. The driving is on the left but easy.

He will deliver to the hotel and you can leave at the ferry or airport. Oh oh so close to you is Picante and Tratoria

            Have fun and follow my

    2. We ate at both Blanchard's and Veya on our Anguilla trip last year and both were good but of the 2 we enjoyed the meal at Veya more.

Related to your getting around question: we rented a car and they brought it to our hotel. Getting around was pretty easy. There are only a few main roads and you quickly learn your way around. Many places don't list their proper street addresses in their ads/websites (they just give a street name but no number) but there are plenty of signs pointing the way to various restaurants and sites.

Veya catered our wedding and they were fantastic! Cap Juluca tip: go to eat 30 minutes before you really want to be eating. Anguilla time is slow moving!
