        bar boulud

      2. Among wine bars, I think Bar Boulud has the best food.

If you expand the query to more formal wine-centric restaurants, Veritas and Adour are tops.

        1. Depends on what you're looking for and where. Without any other parameters, here are some top consumer rated wine bars with top rated plates... just to name a few: Aroma Kitchen (NoLita), Gottino (West Village) small plates, Bar Jamon (off Union Square), Otto (Greenwich Village) a Mario Batali joint, Bar Boulud (UWS), Bourgeois Pig (East Village), Terroir (Gramercy)

          1. Ten Bells
            Il Posto Accanto
            Terroir
            'inoteca

            1. We liked the food at Gallo Nero.

              1. Tapas places could all work as wine bars.

Tia Pol, Las Ramblas, Boqueria, El Quinto Pino, Txikito, Pipa, Pata Negra, N.

I also agree with the Terroir recommendation. Limited, but good quality food selections. I love those little lamb meatballs.

Tia Pol would be my choice

                2. Another vote for Terroir and 'inoteca. Also adding 'ino in the West Village to the mix. Menu is similar to the 'inoteca menu, and space is really, really, tiny, but I've always enjoyed it.
