Galatoire's, Antoine's, Arnaud's or Commander's Palace
This is my first visit to NOLA (from NYC). Will only be here for 3 days. Wondering where to go for that classic (and great) New Orleans experience. Is it even worth it to go to any of them.
So which ones, if any
and it there a waiter we should request? do we make a reservation (it's for 2).
Please share your thoughts.
My favorite is Commander's Palace, but if your'e going to be in New Orleans for 3 days, there's no reason to limit yourself. You probably will get heated arguments about them, but all have dishes that you cannot get at that level in NYC anywhere else. So wallow in luxury for 3 days. A lot of people recommend Commander's for lunch rather than dinner, but I lean more to Central Grocery and Crabby Jacks at lunch. My one lunch at Galatoire's turned out to be an all-day affair, and a great one. The more casual room at Arnaud's (with the jazz combo) is one of the few places I canstand with strolling musicians.
