Is there anyplace on or in the vicinity of Arthur Ave that has wild boar and/or rabbit available? Thanks!

  1. I'm pretty sure that Roberto's serves rabbit, but you should call and check.

    1. Rabbit cooked in tomato sauce with fresh rosemary is on the menu at Trattoria Zero Otto Nove [Roberto's offshoot]. The meat is provided by Biancardi's Meats across the street.

Thanks very much for the replies! I should have been clearer with my query. I'm looking for a butcher that supplies the meat retail. Cheese Boy, Biancardi's sells rabbit?

Especially with Easter quickly approaching, all three butcher shops should have fresh rabbit: Biancardi's, Vincent's, and Pete's. Be sure your butcher cuts the meat at the joints otherwise you'll only be wasting your money. Butchers think they can just take meat cleavers to rabbits -- ain't so. A cleaver will crush a rabbit's bones rather than cut cleanly through them, and as a result you'll be picking out bone fragments from your plate all during your meal. A butcher should butcher a rabbit as they do a chicken -- at the joints. : ) HTH. Here's some pics ... c/o sarahbgibson.
