Oyster Bar?

Good Morning!

I am visiting a friend in Evanston this weekend and am hoping to take in the French Market and some other fun Chicago shopping. Is there a good casual oyster bar anyone can suggest?
Nothing fancy, just good fresh oysters at a counter or bar setting would be lovely.

Thanks!

I would say Catch 35 - handy to the French Market.

All of nsxtasy's downtown recommendations are pretty close to each other.

Thanks everyone! We ended up at Shaw's and had a wonderful time at the oyster bar. Afterwards I went to peek at the dining room and a very kind staff person gave me a brief history of the building, a former paper warehouse for the Tribune. Very recommended!

In Evanston, Davis Street Fishmarket is the place to go. www.davisstreetfishmarket.com Mitchell's Fish Market in Glenview is a 15-20 minute drive and has a great oyster selection. www.mitchellsfishmarket.com

      If you're in the city, Shaw's in River North is best. www.shawscrabhouse.com Other good places in the city include Fulton's - www.fultonsontheriver.com Catch 35 - www.catch35.com Hugo's - www.hugosfrogbar.com
