Santa Fe Report
We returned from Santa Fe this past weekend.
The Shed, right off the square was sooo good that we went for lunch, twice! I HIGHLY recommend the blue corn tortilla tacos with turkey green chili sausage, smothered in the red chili sauce. I thought the green chili stew was a bit thin (I like mine thick and hardy). They also had a pomegranite tequila drink that was outstanding. The manager there was very kind and welcoming. The staff was also very friendly.
Dinnner at Geronimo was outstanding. Seriously, this was the best dinner I've ever had. We started with a seered tuna salad and had the Elk as an entree. I've never eaten anything so tender and delicious. I'll never forget it. It's a lovely place and I hope I'm able to return someday. The staff was very professional and nice.
Breakfast at La Fonda Hotel was very good. I had green chili and cheese grits with a big bowl of sweet fresh fruit covered with yogurt and toasted pecans. The grits were a bit heavy on the cheese but still very, very good. The atmosphere there is very pleasant.
The bar at The Loretto is a hit too. Very friendly staff, good music and just a nice place to hang out.

"Dinner at Geronimo was outstanding."
I am in love with Geronimo's food. The setting, along with the the service and the atmosphere is magical and memorable.
The elk is remarkable, isn't it? I can honestly say that finding comparable food in LA is hard pressed.
It's wonderful you had such a great time.

I can honestly say I'll never forget that meal. My boyfriend had been previously and was determined to take me. It's difficult to explain how completely tender and delicious that elk was. The texture is completely different from a beef steak. Now if they would just redo the design of their t-shirts...

Oh! We're going to Santa Fe next weekend and these are exactly the restaurants I am considering for our meals - only maybe La Choza instead of or in addition to the Shed. Thanks for posting - I'm salivating for that elk!
