Los Angeles Area

Tips for Dining, Eating, and Food Shopping in the Greater Los Angeles Area (including Orange & Ventura Counties and SW San Bernardino County)

My trek through Los Angeles

Lomita....Lomita Thai cafe. Loved this place. Definitely better than any Thai in San Diego and in my opinion better than Lotus of Siam in LV. I had the Crying Tiger and Moon crab noodles. Delish!

West Covina..got some recs from chowhounds but too busy with work. :(

Hollywood. Pizzeria Mozza .. Squash Blossom, burrata, & tomato Pizza. Great but maybe I expected to much, on the other hand the marinated Tuna and bean app. was a knock out.

back to Torrance. The Kettle. I had two dishes. The Pot roast tacos were insanely good. I also had Carbonara with poached eggs. I'm sure this place gets passed off as a fancy diner but everything I have had there has been delish.

    1. I completely agree with you about Lomita Thai... it's a funky red building that puts out some good Thai food.

I think the Kettle is in Manhattan Beach.

When you say the Kettle in Torrance you probably mean the one in Manhattan Beach? It's the upscale 24/7 coffee shop http://thekettle.net/ and I have always enjoyed their food. If you ever get there again their ouefs pain perdu French toast is great (the F toast is stuffed with cream cheese and orange marmalade and it comes with two eggs, bacon or sausage and breakfast potatoes - not the food for those on a heart healthy diet - lol).

The ouefs pain perdu from the Kettle is my favorite breakfast. Period. :)

              • I'm glad to see Lomita Thai is getting a little love around here. I've always liked that place.

For some reason it was really hard to link to this place, but I think this is it? (I noticed that your link didn't show - let's see if mine does)
