Best Indian Buffet in FH, Novi, or Livonia

Hi Hounds - need your advice on the best Indian buffets in Farmington Hills, Novi, Livonia area. TIA

Mostly South Indian food. The buffet is good--my favorite buffet in the metro area--but a la carte (dinner) is even better! This place is ALWAYS busy, so be prepared to for a long wait, particularly on the weekends. I think the buffet runs from 11:00 or 11:30 until about 2:30, Tuesday-Sunday. It's sort of a dive, so don't expect "fine dining"--but to me, that makes the food taste even better!

My wife and I tried Namaste Flavours for lunch this weekend. The food was fantastic- it was nice to have authentic food that wasn't dumbed-down and had full flavor. We'll be back!

Is there a religious reason so many Indian places are closed on Mondays?

I can't answer your question specifically about religion, JP, but I'm sure you know that Monday is the slowest restaurant day of the week.

That I know....but I remember one Monday I was after some Indian and gave up after 4 closed places in a row. I figured that was beyond just closing for slowness reasons and thought possible it was a religious - cultural thing.

Here in Dayton, Ohio there are some Indian restaurants that are open Mondays. And some who are closed. The company I work for has a lot of Indian vendors, some who are working onsite, and I have never heard about Monday being a day of special emphasis.
