does anyone remember Amber's broasted chicken? they used to have a few locations in the SF Valley, is there anything like that around now??

My go to choice for broasted or fried chicken in the SFV is My Brother's BBQ in Woodland Hills. The bbq itself wouldn't past muster for a true que afficionado (although its more than passable for me) but the chicken is excellent.

      From the Broaster's website:

      LULU'S RESTAURANT (17 miles)
      16900 ROSCOE BLVD
      VAN NUYS CA 91406
      Phone: 818-988-0707

Surprisely very few places in the Valley.

I remeber the original location on the corner of Ventura & Woodman. Only chicken place that delivered. I can't think of anyplace comparable.

Broasted chicken is available at many different locations in southern California. Try the broasted chicken website to find your nearest location.

I used to like Pittsburgh Broasted Chicken in Los Alamitos but it's been a couple of years since my last visit so can't vouch for recent quality. But that used to satisfy my cravings. It's more of a takeout place and you can get different seasonings.

There was one at Burbank & Balboa, closed a couple years ago. Not exactly close by, but Slavko's in San Pedro is good stuff.....their "chicken nuggets" are addictive.

I go to one of the locations on the website in Upland...the chicken at Old World Deli is amazing!

I have heard that the Amber's have closed down.

I recently tried Chicky Fried Chicken, which is actually a broasted chicken place in Long Beach. It was quite good. If you try it, I'd like to know what you think. Located at Long Beach Blvd and Del Amo.

I remember Ambers on Magnolia near Laurel Canyon. I'd love to know of something like it.
